About this product
A wired dynamic microphone or a guitar cable pins you to one spot; this VK-38 set adds a UHF transmitter and receiver so the same mic or instrument can move with you. The transmitter is made for a standard XLR dynamic microphone or an instrument lead, and the receiver outputs XLR into a mixer or powered speaker. It is not a phantom-powered condenser system, so dynamic microphones are the intended match; mics that need 48V phantom power will not get it here. UHF wireless is regulated differently from country to country, so check the permitted frequency range and local rules before you rely on it at a paid event. Budget for charging both units before the first show, and keep a cable as backup.

Pros & cons
Pros
- Turns an existing XLR dynamic mic or guitar into a wireless rig instead of buying a whole new wireless microphone
- UHF band usually copes with crowded rooms better than 2.4GHz consumer kits
- Compact transmitter and receiver pair fit in a gig bag and take no rack space
Cons
- No phantom power, so condenser microphones that require 48V will not work with this set
- UHF wireless needs a licence in many countries — check the legal frequency range for your area before relying on it
