About this product

Two Heltec LoRa32 V3 boards built on the SX1262 radio, each with a 0.96-inch OLED plus BT and WiFi, offered in an 868MHz and a 915MHz version. Start with the regulation, because it decides the purchase: 868MHz is the band used across most of Europe, while 915MHz belongs to regions such as North America, and picking the wrong one is not a question of shorter range — a radio set to a band your country does not permit is not legal to operate and will not talk to correctly banded nodes anyway. The kit covers the two boards; antennas, a USB cable, jumper wires, a power source and the sensors for your project are normally added separately, so budget for them. Development happens in the Arduino environment, and the frequency, pin map and OLED library of this revision should be confirmed with the seller before you build around them.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Two SX1262 boards in one kit, ready for a point-to-point link
  • Onboard 0.96-inch OLED means you can debug without adding a screen
  • BT and WiFi on the same board allow a node plus gateway setup
  • Developed in the Arduino environment, with a wide library ecosystem

Cons

  • 868MHz and 915MHz must be chosen for your country — the wrong band is not legal
  • The kit is the two boards only; antennas, USB cable, wires and power are extra
  • Pin map and the exact library version for this revision should come from the seller
  • Boards on different bands cannot talk to each other, so a mixed pair wastes one
