About this product
This is a third-party transparent replacement shell for the Nintendo Entertainment System, sold for refurbishing a worn console, for display, or for a clear-case build. To be clear about what it is: it is not made by Nintendo, it is not licensed or endorsed by Nintendo, and Nintendo is named only to describe which console it fits; all trademarks belong to their respective owners. What decides whether it is the right part for you is the revision of your console, so check three things before ordering. First, which NES you have, because the original front-loading console and the later top-loading model are different shapes and a shell made for one will not accept the other one's mainboard. Second, exactly what arrives in the box, since some shells come alone and you must transfer the original screws, rubber feet, buttons and labels, while others include them, and the page photo does not always match the contents. Third, the cutouts, because a replacement shell has to line up with the power and reset buttons, the controller ports, the cartridge slot and the rear connectors, and some aftermarket shells need a light filing around an opening to seat cleanly. If your console has been modified, tell the seller before buying.
