About this product
Case fans all look alike until you try to fit one, and then three details decide whether it does its job or only adds noise: the frame size, the header type and the direction the blades push air. This Prism 4RS is a 120mm fan with an infinity-mirror hub and addressable lighting, and it is offered both as a case fan and as a fan for a 120mm air cooler or radiator, so the same frame can end up in several positions in a build. Two things are worth clearing up before you order. The first is the lighting connector: addressable ARGB runs on 5V through a three-pin header, while plain RGB runs on 12V through a four-pin header, the plugs are keyed differently and mixing them can kill the LEDs, so check which system this fan uses and which one your motherboard or controller offers. The second is airflow direction: most frames have small arrows moulded into one side, and getting intake and exhaust the right way round is what produces a steady front-to-back flow instead of two fans pushing against each other. The four-pin PWM header is what lets the board raise and lower the speed with temperature, so an idle machine stays quiet instead of running at full tilt.

Pros & cons
Pros
- 120mm frame fits a case mount, a 120mm air cooler or a 120mm radiator, so one fan covers several slots
- Infinity-mirror hub and addressable lighting give the build a lit centre without a separate light strip
- Four-pin PWM connection lets the board ramp speed with temperature instead of running flat out
- Clear cooling upgrade for a case that shipped with one rear exhaust fan
Cons
- The lighting system is not spelled out, so confirm 5V three-pin ARGB or 12V four-pin RGB before ordering
- Screws suit a case panel; a radiator or cooler mount may need longer machine screws
- Direction arrows are easy to miss, and a reversed fan cuts airflow rather than adding it
- No airflow, static pressure or noise figures are given, so it is not a spec-led pick for a dense radiator
