About this product
This is an M1220X laser rangefinder module, offered as a component that measures the distance to a target at long range rather than as a handheld device, and modules of this class are normally built into a gimbal, a mast or a vehicle mount instead of being held. Before anything else, confirm the laser class and what your country allows: a module that reaches kilometres is not a toy, and eye safety plus airspace or site rules decide whether you may use it at all. The second question is the interface, because these modules talk over a serial link and the connector, the supply voltage and the protocol have to match the controller you already have, so ask for the pinout and the command set. Power behaviour matters too, since a module that needs a clean supply will misread when a battery sags. What it will not do is work as a plug-and-play accessory, and range, accuracy, wavelength and price all follow the configuration the seller quotes.

Pros & cons
Pros
- Rated to 20km in the seller's description, which puts it in the long-range class rather than a handheld unit
- Module form factor can go into a gimbal, a mast or a vehicle mount
- Serial control means it can be driven from an existing controller or a small computer
- Measuring a target without walking to it is the point for survey, drone and site work
Cons
- Laser class, wavelength and eye-safety measures are not stated here, so confirm them before you power it up
- Interface type, pinout, supply voltage and protocol are not listed, so the integration work is on you
- Accuracy, beam divergence and the price of the exact configuration need a written quote from the seller
