XTOOL D9HD heavy-duty diagnostic tablet for 12V and 24V trucks: the socket question, the coverage list and the licence term
The D9HD is the heavy-duty version of the D9 tablet, aimed at trucks that run 12V and 24V electrical systems, and that is a different problem from a car: the socket, the protocol set and often the way fault codes are grouped all change. Start with the socket and the voltage, because a 24V truck and a 12V van do not offer the same diagnostic port, and the adapter for the vehicle in front of you has to be in the box or on order. Then ask for the coverage list of the current software release, by make and year, since heavy-duty coverage is narrower than car coverage and it is the number that decides whether the tool pays for itself. The licence term and the update path count as much as the hardware, because a tool that cannot be updated goes stale quickly on trucks. What it will not do is replace the manufacturer's own service software for programming, and the exact coverage and accessory set are for the seller to confirm.
