RT-950 PRO 10W handheld radio with GPS APRS and Bluetooth phone programming: check bands and licence rules before you buy
Start with the legal side, because it decides more than the hardware does: in most countries, transmitting on amateur, CB or PMR frequencies needs a licence or a type-approved set, and receiving is far less restricted than transmitting. The RT-950 PRO is a 10W handheld that receives AM, FM, CB, LSB, USB and CW, carries GPS and APRS, and can be programmed from a phone over Bluetooth instead of a cable and a PC. That mix suits two very different buyers - the licensed operator who wants a compact field radio with APRS position reporting, and the listener who mostly wants to scan and monitor. Before ordering, confirm three things with the seller or your national regulator: which transmit bands the set is actually enabled for, whether your licence covers them, and whether Bluetooth programming works with your phone model. Air bands and any receive-only coverage vary by region and firmware, so treat them as something to verify, not to assume.
